The botanical garden in Zurich is run by the University of Zurich. It’s the city garden located in Seefeld.
It’s a 5.6-hectare garden with 3 tropical glass domes, a pond and lots of corners, and around 7000 plant species.
Three tropical glass domes look futuristic like from different planets. You can find tropical rainforest, mountain rainforest as well as Dryland houses.
The Mountain Rainforest House
A colorful garden is full of ferns, orchids, and palm trees.
Tropical lowland rainforest house
You can find here mosses, ferns, cacao, or banana trees.
Tropical Dryland House
This garden was my favorite, full of cactuses, succulents, and other plants from Madagascar, South Africa, and the Canary Islands. I would like to have one of these huge cacti at home.
The Garden is accessible to everyone and full of secrets, like a bees hive.
It’s changing all over the year and I can’t wait to visit it in the summer. There is also Old Botanic Garden which will visit in Spring. Let’s stay in touch.
